Fr. Gregory Mathewes-Green is the founding pastor of Holy Cross Church, Linthicum, MD, and now is Pastor Emeritus, having retired in July 2018. He had been an Episcopal priest for 15 years, having served parishes in SC, LA, VA, and MD, when he made the decision to enter Holy Orthodoxy with his wife and children, and was chrismated and ordained in January 1993. Fr Gregory earned degrees from the University of South Carolina (BA), Virginia Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Catholic University of America (MA). During his pastorate at Holy Cross he also served the Archdiocese as Dean of the National Capital churches and as Diocesan Missioner. Since retiring and moving to eastern TN, in addition to assisting at the parish of his son, Fr Stephen Mathewes, he has also served Antiochian churches in North and South Carolina, as well as speaking at several pan-Orthodox gatherings. He has been happily married to Khouria Frederica for 46 years, and together they have 3 children and 14 grandchildren.
